When you want more,
it helps to have help.
That help is right here, my friend. I’ve coached hundreds of clients over thousands of certified hours, ranging from 18 to 81 years young. We all need a little support to live lives worth living… regret-free lives that are both wide and deep.
Seeing your life in a whole new light: getting clear on your purpose, values, goals, and how to get there. Epiphanatic.
Solving your work-related woes is an absolute must if you want to like your life. Gain confidence, skills and control.
Looking to thrive, feel energized and well-rounded in all the areas of your life? Well-being is a key to the good life.
The Wake-Up Call
For when life happens TO you (layoffs, divorce, illness, etc.), and you want to make living with resilience, vitality, and meaning a priority.
Committing even further to your already-awesome life: more motivation, more joy, more depth, more success, more gratitude, more creme brûlée.
Because You Can't Not
When coaching works, you kind of want to keep doing it. Lots of my clients are lifers, even if it's just a quarterly or yearly check-in.
FAQs for the Curious Types
IS COACHING VIRTUAL? CAN WE STILL DO IT IF I LIVE ON A REMOTE ISLAND?
Yes! And can I please visit you there? I connect with clients far and wide through the wonders of the web– even before coronavirus prompted us all to learn how to use Zoom. The telephone works too.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO GET STARTED?
It’s easy! (Much easier than making risotto.)
- You book a call with me to talk about what’s on your mind (here)
- Assuming you don’t think I’m horrible after that call, we set up our first “Pre-Mortem” session date, which is usually 90-minutes because we have a LOT to talk about All Things You
- You sign a coaching agreement and make a payment (or payment installment) before our first session
- You complete your “Pre-Mortem” Questionnaire, which provides fodder for our first session together
- We commence coaching, usually meeting by phone every other week or so (although the timing is flexible, depending on your needs)
- You do great work, make progress, have fun, and we recalibrate your program along the way (depending on what you learn/ want more of/ want less of)
- We wrap the coaching program up with a structured Post-Mortem session that debriefs all you’ve learned about yourself and organizes your game plan in life/work moving forward
- We both celebrate your success (usually with food & or drink)
SO IS THIS ABOUT GRAND, SWEEPING GESTURES TO OVERHAUL MY LIFE?
Probably not! (Unless you need/ want that.)
I talk a lot about vitality– our wish to feel very much alive in the shadow of inevitable death– but I won’t talk about inundating ourselves with intense stimulation in an effort to remedy the blandness of boredom. Becoming thrill-seeking daredevils (wearing a YOLO t-shirt while rock climbing without a rope, for example) might be a tad extreme, whereas making subtle tweaks to breathe more oxygen into our lives (maybe wearing that YOLO t-shirt while taking perfectly safe rock climbing lessons) might be more sustainable for the rest of us.
Pressure abounds to LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST (yes, in all caps) and for most of us those words emblazoned on mugs, doormats and tea cozies feels less like encouragement and more like a lecture that often ends in judgment. My work is meant to inspire even the smallest of tweaks to appreciate and get more out of our lives, not make us feel like we’re living wrong. Let’s consider this a discussion about what we could do, not what we should do. Life is the possibility of more possibility.
WHAT IF I'M NOT INTO A LIFE WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES? AM I INELIGIBLE FOR COACHING IF I LIKE A SIMPLER LIFESTYLE?
My encouragement to live “wide” lives full of vitality is so not meant to sound like an admonishment for living lives that seem ostensibly… vanilla. Some of us prefer vanilla ice cream and aren’t interested in two scoops of rocky road, and that’s perfectly acceptable (especially if it’s Ben and Jerry’s vanilla).
The encouragement here is to live life even more vitally and on purpose– relative to our own needs and preferences. After contemplating the diminishing time we have left, we might be inspired to have even more vanilla ice cream because it brings us such simple pleasure. We might feel inspired to become healthier versions of ourselves and consequently have less ice cream. Or we might be inspired to take our good old-fashioned vanilla and put a cherry on top.
Some people I work with want super-full calendars with social events galore and experiences up the wazoo (what is a wazoo, really?). Just as many want quieter lives with a more deliberate approach to the finer parts of life that bring them joy. I relate to wanting a curated life experience that’s not necessarily about the volume of more… more about the quality of more.
HOW MUCH DOES COACHING COST?
Always a great question.
Your coaching investment varies, depending on the program. A Mini-Pre-Mortem program of two jam-packed session starts at $995, for example, and most engagements are less than a thousand per month.
Let’s talk about what’s right for you. Send me a note or give me a call. I’d love to talk with you.
